Job Description:
English Language Learners (ELL) Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor, Fall 2026 The Division of Management and Education is currently seeking applicants for a Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor of English Language Learners (ELL) for the Fall 2026 Term. The Part-Time Instructor for English Language Learners (ELL) is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to preservice teachers. The instructor will support students in developing a strong understanding of effective strategies and best practices for working with learners who speak English as a second language, including the linguistic, cultural, and academic considerations that impact their success.Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field (required)
- Experience teaching or working with English Language Learners in K-12 or higher education settings
- Knowledge of second language acquisition theories and effective instructional strategies for ELL students
- Understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices and diverse learner needs
- Experience preparing or mentoring preservice teachers (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to integrate technology into instruction
- Teaching certification or ESL endorsement (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
The Part-Time Instructor designs and delivers engaging instruction for preservice teachers with a focus on English Language Learners (ELL), covering topics such as language acquisition, instructional strategies, assessment, and culturally responsive practices. The instructor prepares future educators to effectively support ELL students in diverse classroom settings by developing and implementing course materials aligned with current standards and best practices. Responsibilities include assessing student learning through assignments and evaluations, providing timely and constructive feedback, and incorporating real-world applications such as case studies and field-based experiences. The role also involves utilizing instructional technology and learning management systems, maintaining accurate records of student progress, collaborating with faculty and program coordinators, and staying current with research and trends in ELL education.
