With a primary focus on teaching creative writing and arts & crafts, Kreative Scribes aims to cultivate a passion for creativity among children and provide them with a supportive learning environment. The organization values innovation, inclusivity, and the power of art and literature to inspire positive change. Role Description This is a part-time, contractor (1099), on-site role located in Collingdale, PA (~25-minute drive from the University of Pennsylvania). The applicant must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a standard background check and child abuse clearance. Each class session is 1 hour, and the classes must be taught in person. The Program Creative Writing + Arts & Crafts Teacher must be able to: Confidently design and lead creative writing, STEAM, and arts & crafts workshops for students, with little to no technological aids, i.e, computers, tablets, phones Create easy-to-follow art projects for ages 9-13, keeping the youth engaged while teaching key learning objectives set by the lead teacher Nurture their creativity and confidence in writing, science, art, and self-esteem Responsibilities include: Developing lesson plans, guiding students in hands-on projects Assisting students in organizing their thoughts via Creative Writing and STEAM projects Helping students create a portfolio of projects to track progress and milestones Fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and collaborating with colleagues and students to enhance program quality Regular monitoring of student progress and engaging with parents to provide updates. Qualifications Program Management skills, including the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate engaging after-school activities. Analytical Skills to assess the needs of students and adapt lesson plans effectively. Strong Communication and Customer Service abilities for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues in a professional and supportive manner. Experience in Training and mentoring students in creative writing and arts & crafts. Passion for education, creativity, and working with young learners. Previous teaching experience in creative writing, arts & crafts, or similar fields is a plus. Ability to create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.

$50.00 per hour
