Position Title:

English Teacher Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English literature and composition, a love of teaching, and a desire to foster a positive and intellectually stimulating classroom environment. This teacher will be responsible for helping students develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills that prepare them for college-level coursework and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with Erie Prep's curriculum standards. Teach a range of English courses, including literature, grammar, creative writing, and academic writing. Guide students in developing their reading comprehension, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Use a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student learning and provide timely feedback. Integrate technology and multimedia tools to enhance instruction and learning outcomes. Communicate regularly with parents, advisors, and school leadership about student progress. Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities. Serve as a mentor, advisor, or coach as part of the school community. Passion for teaching and mentoring students, fostering intellectual curiosity and spiritual growth. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Alignment with the school's Christian faith and values. Requirements Master's degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field. Experience teaching English at the high school and/or college level. Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary literature, writing pedagogy, and assessment practices. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to be employed on a part-time basis by another institution (community college).
