Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired on a contract basis. You'll have the chance to enrich the educational experiences of children with visual impairments, collaborating closely with educators, families, and specialists to implement effective strategies and foster independence.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or equivalent credentials Previous experience teaching or supporting visually impaired students in a school setting preferred Proficiency in creating and adapting instructional materials for a variety of visual needs Familiarity with Braille, large print, low vision devices, and assistive technology Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team Compassion, flexibility, and a passion for promoting student success
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and accommodations based on student IEPs and assessments Assess student abilities and ongoing progress in both academic and functional areas Modify curriculum materials and create accessible resources to support learning Train and support educational staff on effective strategies and adaptive tools Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Monitor classroom environments to ensure accessibility and inclusivity Document progress, participate in meetings, and contribute to educational planning Working as a contract professional allows you flexibility while making a real difference in students' lives.
