Job Description

Teach courses such as composition, developmental English, and literature, as assigned. Ability to teach developmental and transfer-level English courses in multiple instructional formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities. Commitment to teaching excellence and student success and an ability to work with academically and culturally diverse student populations. Develop and maintain course materials, syllabi, assignments, assessments, and instructional content aligned with course outcomes. Understanding of equitable and inclusive teaching practices. Utilize institutional learning management systems (LMS) and other instructional technologies to deliver course content, facilitate student engagement, and assess learning outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely course records, including attendance, grades, and academic progress, in accordance with college policies and deadlines. Process student enrollment actions such as Add/Drop and withdrawals in alignment with institutional procedures and academic calendars. Submit midterm and final grades by established deadlines and ensure grade accuracy and compliance with academic standards. Communicate regularly and effectively with students through College adopted platforms. Initiate and respond to student alerts and early intervention notifications to support student retention and success. Monitor student performance and provide timely feedback, referrals, and academic support resources as needed. Participate in training and ongoing professional development related to instructional technology, advising tools, and student success systems. Collaborate with faculty and staffto promote student persistence and completion. Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and compliance requirements related to instructional delivery and student data management. Serve on College committees and participate in College Community Days. Perform other duties as assigned. Master's Degree with 18 graduate hours in English. Teaching experience preferred.
