Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an exciting opportunity for the 2025-2026 school year as a High School English Teacher at a vibrant educational setting near Ridgeville, SC. As part of a supportive academic community, you'll guide students through literary analysis, composition, and critical discussion, nurturing 21st-century skills and a love of learning. This contract role requires 40 hours weekly and invites professionals eager to make a real difference through their teaching expertise. Currently interviewing as of July 1, 2026! Candidates holding an active teaching license from any state are encouraged to apply—reciprocity through the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) is available for qualified educators able to obtain it before the August start date.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in General Education or Secondary English (from any state; SC licensure via reciprocity must be obtained before starting) Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Education, or related field Demonstrated success in general education or English classroom settings Strong communication and organizational abilities Commitment to fostering critical thinking, inclusivity, and student growth
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with high school English curriculum standards Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback Encourage participation in classroom discussions and activities Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support individual student needs Uphold school policies while contributing to a positive, respectful environment
