Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for a full-time, school-based position in the St. George, South Carolina area for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about literature, writing, critical thinking, and helping students develop the communication skills necessary for academic and lifelong success. The ideal candidate will create engaging lessons that foster reading comprehension, analytical thinking, effective writing, and meaningful classroom discussions while preparing students for postsecondary education and future career opportunities.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with state and district standards.
  • Teach literature, composition, grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension to high school students.
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical writing, and effective communication skills.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, essays, and examinations.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance.
Qualifications:
  • Active South Carolina Teaching Certification in English Language Arts required.
  • Soliant offers Licensing Assistance for qualified candidates.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Passion for literacy, student growth, and academic excellence.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in English, English Education, Secondary Education, or a related field.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of secondary English Language Arts curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage students through literature, writing, and discussion-based learning.
  • Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and families.
