Posting Text Black Hills State University seeks to hire an instructor of English for the 2026-2027 academic year in Shakespeare and early British literature. Courses in other areas—assigned according to interest and expertise—may include upper-level seminars, mid-level surveys of literature, and introductory courses in humanities, literature, or philosophy. Courses will include those in introductory writing and/or speech.
DUTIES:
- Teach five courses per semester
- Conduct an agenda of scholarly activity appropriate for advancement to the tenure-track
- Ability to develop and craft original course content, including syllabi, curriculum materials, and assessments
REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. or ABD in British literature or closely related field
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level, with evidence of effective instructional practice
