BHSU - School of Humanities Physical Location of Position (City): Spearfish Posting Text Black Hills State University seeks to hire an instructor of English for the 2026-2027 academic year in Shakespeare and early British literature. Courses in other areas-assigned according to interest and expertise-may include upper-level seminars, mid-level surveys of literature, and introductory courses in humanities, literature, or philosophy. Courses will include those in introductory writing and/or speech.
DUTIES:
Teach five courses per semester Conduct an agenda of scholarly activity appropriate for advancement to the tenure-track Ability to develop and craft original course content, including syllabi, curriculum materials, and assessments
REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D. or ABD in British literature or closely related field Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level, with evidence of effective instructional practice
