Composition and Introduction to Literature. Principal Accountabilities Provides instruction for courses as needed Demonstrates a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence Maintains access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication Prepares and utilizes a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution Maintains current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources Advises students in academic matters Evaluates students' performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner Assists in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives Provides recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Head, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community Submits timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments Exhibits a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities Possesses a passion for teaching community college students Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and orally Responsible for other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in English Must be employed by Bryan ISD Minimum Competencies Experience teaching college-level English composition courses Experience teaching at a community college or two-year college This position is to teach in-person English classes on the Bryan High School campus Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors, staff, administration and students Ability to instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives Preferred Qualifications Experience using D2L/Brightspace Provide at least two professional references Preferred Competencies N/A Special Notes To Applicants Must be employed by Bryan High School/Bryan ISD The College assigns appropriately credentialed faculty members in support of educational quality and the mission of the College, in keeping with Board policy

This form will serve as the primary basis for the search committee to analyze your application. A list of three professional references with contact information (including email and phone number). 3. Finalists will be asked to do a 10-15 minute teaching demonstration. It is to the candidate's advantage to observe this time limit. 4. It is imperative that a PDF of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts be attached to this application. Unofficial transcripts will suffice for the purpose of this application; however, please make sure that the applicant's name and graduation dates are clearly readable on the transcript. 5. The candidate selected will be required to present official transcript at the time of hiring. Official transcripts will be required.
