ESL Interventionist Manara Academy Irving, TX Job Details Full-time From $58,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Bilingual Personalized learning implementation Bachelor's degree Working with students Organizational skills Classroom experience ESL Certification Full Job Description Primary Purpose The ESL Interventionist supports Emergent Bilingual (EB)/English Learner (EL) students in developing English language proficiency and academic success through targeted intervention, collaboration with teachers, and implementation of research-based instructional strategies aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS). Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support Provide targeted small-group and/or individualized intervention services for Emergent Bilingual students in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Implement research-based instructional strategies aligned with TEKS, ELPS, and district curriculum. Support language acquisition and academic vocabulary development across content areas. Monitor and differentiate instruction based on student language proficiency levels and academic needs. Assist students in developing foundational literacy and language skills to improve classroom performance and assessment outcomes. Utilize intervention programs, progress monitoring tools, and supplemental instructional materials to accelerate language growth. Reinforce classroom instruction and support sheltered instruction strategies. Collaboration and Coaching Collaborate with classroom teachers, ESL teachers, interventionists, special programs staff, and campus leadership to support student achievement. Assist teachers with implementation of effective ESL instructional strategies and accommodations. Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), data meetings, MTSS/RTI meetings, ARD meetings, LPAC meetings, and other student support meetings as assigned. Provide input regarding appropriate accommodations and interventions for EB students. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring Monitor student progress using district assessments, TELPAS-aligned measures, screeners, formative assessments, and intervention data. Maintain accurate intervention records, progress monitoring documentation, and student support plans. Analyze student data to identify instructional gaps and recommend interventions. Assist in preparing students for state assessments, including STAAR and TELPAS. Compliance and Program Support Support compliance with federal, state, and local ESL program requirements. Assist with implementation of district ESL programming and language acquisition initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with FERPA and district policies. Support campus LPAC processes and documentation as requested. Ensure instructional practices align with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements for Emergent Bilingual students. Family and Community Engagement Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and language development. Support parent engagement activities and provide resources to families of Emergent Bilingual students. Encourage positive relationships between school and home to support student success. Professional Responsibilities Participate in required professional development related to ESL, bilingual education, language acquisition, intervention strategies, and instructional best practices. Demonstrate professionalism, cultural responsiveness, and ethical conduct at all times. Maintain ESL certification requirements and comply with district expectations. Perform other duties as assigned by the campus principal or district administration. Qualifications Preferred Valid Texas Teaching Certificate ESL Certification required Bilingual Certification preferred Experience working with Emergent Bilingual/English Learner students Knowledge of ELPS, TELPAS, sheltered instruction, and intervention strategies Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry instructional materials Frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and use of technology Ability to work with students in classroom and intervention settings
