ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNER LIAISON
Reports to:
Principal SUMMARY:
Actively ensures that current state and federal mandates regarding compliance and accountability for English Language Learners (ELL) are met. Tracks and reports status of ELLs. Collaborates with and coaches campus teachers. Develops and conducts professional development to promote student success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/certification Bachelor's degree Valid Texas Teacher ESL Certification Three years minimum teaching experience Bilingual and SIOP trained (preferred)

Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills Strong organization and time management skills Ability to be flexible and adapt to different situations in order meet various deadlines throughout the year Basic computer skills

I. SCHOOL CLIMATE
Supports campus teachers by contributing to a positive learning environment. Schedules and facilitates meetings with campus teachers and instructional administrators in order to support an optimum teaching and learning climate using research-based instructional strategies/methods for English Language Learners. Actively supports each campus to promote a quality Bilingual/ESL program.
II. SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
Conducts classroom visitations to provide feedback on teachers' progress in implementing research-based instructional strategies/methods for English Language Learners. Works for the improvement of instruction through individual and group conferences with teachers focusing on targeted goals. Works collaboratively with C&I on District Improvement Plan Committees to implement, monitor, revise, and evaluate the District Improvement Plan. Assists and supports campuses by monitoring, revising and evaluating Campus Improvement Plan. Collects, analyzes and interprets local and state assessment data.
III. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
Knowledgeable of the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and ensures implementation through out all content areas. Assists campuses and teachers in analyzing and interpreting various types of data in order to plan and implement a quality Bilingual/ESL Program. Models lessons for teachers in a classroom setting upon request. Utilizes performance data to identify student needs and plan for appropriate interventions in collaboration with campus teachers/administrators. Collaborates with special programs such as but not limited to Special Education, Gifted and Talented and 504 to ensure language acquisition needs and proper ELL placement. Assists campus teachers and administrators with the documentation of linguistic accommodations for instruction and testing purposes.
IV. ADMINISTRATIVE AND FISCAL MANAGEMENT
Maintains accurate records of English Language Learners and shares information with the parents, administration and campus teachers in a timely manner. Facilitates and actively participates in meetings, trainings and staffing advocating for English Language Learners. Researches and articulates methodologies, strategies and program components as they relate to best practices for English Language Learners. Plans and conducts in-service, staff development and support sessions for teachers related to using research-based instructional strategies/methods for English Language Learners.
