We are looking for an educator who values collaboration, student success, and innovative teaching strategies. At EHS, we are a joyful and inclusive Christian community dedicated to helping students lead meaningful lives in service to others. We seek a teacher who is committed to differentiated instruction, academic excellence, and inspiring a love for English in all students. Faculty at Episcopal High School report to their respective department chair for guidance, support, and accountability in teaching. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Support the school's Mission & Guiding Principles as well as the school's DCI Statement & Priorities through appropriate words and actions. Design, prepare, and implement lessons, activities, and resources that facilitate active and effective learning. Develop, administer, and provide feedback on various types of assessments that are timely and appropriate for achieving course objectives. Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for learning. Develop and maintain strong rapport with students and provide one-on-one assistance as needed. Incorporate technology effectively and regularly. Keep parents, advisors, and school leaders informed of student progress. Serve as an advisor to a small group of students and fulfill all required elements of the Advisory Program. Lead by example in Daily Chapel, including Family Chapel. Attend and engage actively in department meetings and other required school events. Share resources, assist, and collaborate with fellow faculty. Fulfill other elements of the school's Essential Expectations and Standards of Excellence in Teaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty and staff, parents, and students. Ability to think and plan strategically and creatively. Ability to supervise and manage multiple functions and activities.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Generally work in standard office conditions and climate. Ability to work in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
