Position Overview We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and student-centered 7th and 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate loves the energy of middle schoolers, possesses a deep appreciation for literature and writing, and excels at bridging foundational literacy skills with creative expression. In this role, you won't just teach grammar and essays—you will inspire students to find their voices, think critically about the world, and engage with text in meaningful ways.

Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction:

Design and deliver engaging, standards-based ELA lessons (aligned with Utah Core Standards) that challenge and support a diverse range of learners.

Integrated Learning:

Actively seek opportunities to weave technology and creative arts into the English curriculum.

Assessment & Data:

Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress, differentiate instruction, and drive academic growth.

Classroom Culture:

Maintain a safe, structured, and emotionally supportive classroom environment rooted in mutual respect.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the middle school team, professional learning communities (PLCs), and parents to ensure student success.

Qualifications & Requirements Required:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Utah Professional Educator License (or eligibility for an Associate/LE-Specific license) with an endorsement in Middle Level English/Language Arts or Secondary English. Strong classroom management skills tailored to the unique development of early adolescents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

Experience teaching 7th or 8th-grade students. Familiarity with blended learning technologies and integrating digital tools into daily lessons.
