INSTRUCTOR - PRIVATE DAY SCHOOLS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS
Several part-time EL temporary teaching opportunities are available at private day schools supporting students with special needs students in Northern Virginia.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for accelerating English language acquisition and academic content learning in math, language arts, science, and social studies for multilingual learners placed in various private day schools across Northern Virginia. Private day schools are specialized educational settings outside the public school system that serve students with disabilities who require intensive supports and services beyond what can be provided in a traditional school environment.

The position ensures that students develop the academic English language skills needed to meet classroom expectations, achieve passing scores on SOL or Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP) assessments, and fulfill graduation requirements. The role involves direct teaching responsibilities by providing instruction tailored to the needs of English learners (ELs). It also provides cross-cultural information about the U.S. school system and expectations for students.

Additionally, the position serves as a liaison between ELs, their classroom teachers, families, and the broader school community. It implements all English Learner Program procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Job Description
