Job Description

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at Orange County High. The ideal candidate will foster a love for literature and language in students while promoting critical thinking and effective communication skills. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic and personal growth in a supportive and dynamic educational environment. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach various English subjects, including literature, writing, grammar, and composition.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enrich the curriculum.
  • Support students in developing their critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions and written assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid state teaching license or willing to obtain
  • Proven experience teaching English at the high school level is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of literature, writing techniques, and language arts pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
  • Passion for inspiring students and cultivating a lifelong love of reading and writing.
