Job Description

Job Summary Kemmerer Junior Senior High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop a love for literature, writing, and critical thinking. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and engaging students in meaningful discussions about language and its impact on society. The successful applicant will collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and support the academic growth of all students. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and the school's curriculum. Teach various English subjects, including literature, composition, and language arts, to students in grades 7-12. Foster a classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback. Collaborate with fellow teachers to create interdisciplinary projects and support school-wide initiatives. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum changes. Supervise and mentor students during extracurricular activities, such as English clubs or literary competitions. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Valid Wyoming PTSB teaching certification. Strong knowledge of English language and literature, along with effective teaching strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Proficiency in using technology for teaching and classroom management. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all students.
