Job Summary Position Description We are recruiting two (2) open-rank full-time Professors of Instruction (POI) in the Department of Sustainable Earth Systems Sciences (SESS), School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM), at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas). These POI positions are expected to teach the equivalent of four (4) 3-semester credit hour lecture courses per semester, both in-person and online, primarily to undergraduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds, including BS Geosciences majors and other non-majors. Areas of teaching expertise include undergraduate geology, earth sciences, hydrology, and environmental sciences. Undergraduate research project mentoring is encouraged. Service on departmentmittees etc. is modest, as appointed by the Department Head periodically. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience:
A PhD or equivalent in Earth Sciences or a related discipline is required prior to employment; those with ABD status will be considered at the application/interviewing stage. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environmentprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences. A PhD degree or equivalent in Earth Sciences, Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline, with demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate BS level. A PhD degree or equivalent in Earth Sciences, Geology, Hydrology, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline, with demonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate BS levels.
