Hired learning assistants will work their specific schedules out with the faculty member in charge of the class they are a learning assistant for. Description Benefits Questions General Information & Responsibilities Learning Assistants play a crucial role in supporting educational programs and facilitating effective learning experiences within the classroom. This position is responsible for assisting instructors with the classroom discussions. Learning Assistants collaborate with faculty and program coordinators to enhance the overall learning outcomes and promote the success of aspiring educators.

Description of Duties Responsibilities:

Collaborate with faculty and program coordinators to implement instructional strategies. Assist in the delivery of educational materials, including organizing and distributing course materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining a well-structured learning environment. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects and values diversity, ensuring equal opportunities for all students. Collaborate with other learning assistants, faculty, and program staff to share best practices and collectively enhance the quality of education within the NOYCE program. Participate in a pedagogy course. The tuition for the pedagogy course is paid for by the learning assistant program.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

Must be a current Black Hawk College student.

Preference:

Those considering education as a major are preferred, particularly in a STEM field.
