Primary School Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEN Support)

Weekly Pay Teaching Personnel are currently working with a number of welcoming primary schools across the NP20 area who are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs. This role focuses on supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs, including Pica. It's an ideal opportunity for individuals who are patient, resilient, and passionate about making a meaningful difference. About the Role Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and complex needs Support communication, sensory development, and behaviour Follow individual learning and behaviour plans Ensure pupil safety, including close supervision where required Encourage emotional regulation and engagement in lessons Support daily routines, transitions, and structured activities Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Skills & Experience Experience working with SEN/ALN, particularly ASD Understanding of Pica (or willingness to learn) Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management Calm, patient, and consistent approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Flexible and proactive attitude Ideal Candidate Compassionate and child-focused Reliable and resilient Highly aware of safety and wellbeing Adaptable within a fast-paced school environment Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply) What We Offer Weekly pay Flexible working options to suit your lifestyle Free CPD training (SEN, ASD, Safeguarding, Behaviour) Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities to secure long-term roles If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can truly support children with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.
