Position Details Position Title Fencing Graduate Assistant Academic Year 2026-2027 UIW Mission University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good. Position Summary The Fencing Graduate Assistant is responsible for duties including but not limited to assistance with travel plans, set up for games & practices, managing equipment, game and practice video, operations, social media, community service, and organizing team events. The Fencing Graduate Assistant reports to the Head Fencing Coach. Essential Functions Work with fencing student athletes throughout the year. Assisting in many roles relating to the development of the fencing program. Travel with the team during the fencing season. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Excellent oral, written communication, and organizational skills. Ability to anticipate needs and provide solutions. Follow the mission of the university. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA . Required Education UIW graduate student. Required Work Experience At least 6 months fencing experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Office and Photoshop desired. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None. Work Hours Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Demands Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
