Position # 40108214 The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia is seeking applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in neuroscience research. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on age-related cognitive impairment, synaptic dysfunction, neurodegeneration, and neuroregeneration. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of research productivity and a history of securing extramural funding. Responsibilities Research Conduct cutting edge research in the fields of neuroinflammation, neurodegeneration and neuroregeneration. Carry out research projects independently; design and execute research experiments, perform data analysis, write manuscripts, and publish results. Establish vigorous independent extramurally funded research programs to complement research strengths and goals of the department and university. Develop new methods and technology and work collaboratively with others in the laboratory and in the department. Assist with training and supervision of students, postdocs, and technicians. Perform other related duties as assigned. Teaching Participate in teaching medical and graduate students. Required Qualifications Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training. Associate Professor
- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professor
- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
