SALARY:
Anticipated starting salary is $57,289.00 - $60,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the
MCCC/MTA

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
In accordance with MCCC collective bargaining agreement, the successful candidate will serve in the role of time faculty member within the Funeral Service Department. The successful candidate must demonstrate passion for preparing students to work effectively in the field of funeral service. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering curriculum that supports diverse learners in the program. In addition to teaching and advising students, the successful candidate will be responsible for clinical education oversight.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teach courses in the Funeral Service Program that align with the Associates in Applied Science in accordance with the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement. Deliver instruction to diverse students in various modalities such as face to face, online and/or hybrid modalities. Engage in culturally responsive, student?centered teaching practices which foster critical thinking and classroom engagement. Utilize new technologies and methodologies in the classroom, as appropriate, to facilitate and support a student-centered environment. Advise and mentor Funeral Service students. Participate in program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement imitative such as curricular development and enhancement. Collaborate with Funeral Service Program Director and faculty including interdisciplinary programming. Participate in college governance and committees as assigned. Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain expertise/currency in the career field and to infuse new methodologies and content into the program. Serve as the lab manager and oversee maintenance and usage of equipment and materials such as "Syndaver". Serve as Clinical Coordinator for the program, which includes coordination of off-campus clinical sites and oversight of students' clinical experiences. Perform other duties consistent with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements:
Graduate of an ABFSE accredited funeral service or mortuary science program. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or willingness to obtain Master's degree within 5 years (if candidate does not have a Master's degree, they should acknowledge in their cover letter willingness to obtain a Master's degree within 5 years of hire) Current and active license with Massachusetts Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers as a Funeral Director and Embalmer OR current and active licenses from another jurisdiction and the ability to successfully acquire Massachusetts licenses within the first year of employment. A minimum of five years of direct, hands-on experience in both embalming and funeral directing is required. Candidates must possess strong technical proficiency in embalming and restorative art procedures, with a thorough understanding of professional and regulatory standards. Prior teaching, instruction OR training experience required; teaching experience in higher education and/or at the community college level is strongly preferred. Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in the participation ABFSE accreditation process and program assessment preferred. Evidence of current teaching methodologies, including innovative use of evolving instructional technologies in the classroom, and use of learning management systems preferred. Experience teaching online/hybrid and/or embedding the use of technology into the curriculum preferred.
