Adjunct/Part Time Faculty; Public Health and Health Administration University of North Carolina Charlotte United States, North Carolina, Charlotte May 05, 2026 Adjunct/Part Time Faculty; Public Health and Health Administration Please see Special Instructions for more details. The Department of Public Health and Health Administration (PHHA), which will be created in July 2026 by the merger of the Department of Epidemiology and Community Health and the Department of Health Management and Policy, is committed to prepare students and scholars to lead impactful public health initiatives, expand access to quality care, and contribute to healthier outcomes for populations. The department only reviews the applicant pool as the need arises to cover specific courses. Projected adjunct undergraduate and/or graduate faculty needs for the 2026-27 Academic Year include, but aren't limited to, community health; epidemiology; global health; healthcare leadership and ethics; professional development in healthcare; human resources in healthcare; accounting and finance; healthcare quality assessment and performance improvement/lean management; population health/managerial epidemiology; and the US healthcare system. The candidate chosen for open positions will be required to provide an official transcript of their highest earned degree and will be subject to a criminal background check. Faculty teaching graduate courses:
earned doctorate / terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline. UNC Charlotte also considers competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including, as appropriate, undergraduate and graduate degrees, related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Duties and Responsibilities UNC Charlotte is accepting applications for adjunct or part-time faculty. These positions are temporary and usually involve teaching a particular course or courses for a particular semester. These positions are temporary and do not accrue benefits.
Responsibilities could include:
Developing and/or updating course syllabus, preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments, meeting all designated class periods, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
