Job Description

The Radiography Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the Radiography Program. The instructor supports student success through effective teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and active engagement in program accreditation and institutional initiatives. 1. Provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in accordance with ARRT and JCERT standards. 2. Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and instructional content to ensure alignment with current radiologic practices and regulatory requirements. 3. Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback and academic support. 4. Supervise students in clinical settings and ensure adherence to safety and ethical standards. 5. Participate in program assessment, accreditation self-studies, and continuous quality improvement. 6. Collaborate with faculty and staff in curriculum planning and scheduling. 7. Maintain professional credentials and participate in professional development activities. 8. Serve on departmental and college committees as assigned. 9. Support student recruitment, retention, and career placement efforts. Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Radiologic Sciences, or Medical Imaging
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in radiography.
  • One year of teaching or clinical instruction experience in an academic or healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional ARRT certifications (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography).
  • Experience with curriculum development and program accreditation.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace).
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
Reporting Relationships:
Direction Received:
Reports to the Program Chair of Radiography Program and/or the Dean of Health Sciences. Receives guidance related to academic policies, curriculum updates, and institutional goals.
Direction Given:
Provides instruction, mentorship, and clinical oversight to Radiography students
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
  • Strong knowledge of radiologic science principles, procedures, and patient care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective teaching strategies and classroom management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clinical partners, and students.
  • Commitment to student success and professional ethics.
  • Competency in digital imaging systems, PACS, and educational technology.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily in classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments.
  • May require travel to clinical sites.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, occasional lifting, and interaction with radiation-producing equipment.
  • Must comply with radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures.
