Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Adjunct Clinical Faculty. This position will Direct and supervise the Hutchins Business Law Clinic beginning in August, 2026. The Hutchins Business Law Clinic provides local start-up businesses with the specialized legal services they need to scale and grow, and to provide student-attorneys the opportunity to develop important legal and practical skills through their activities at the clinic. Clients of the clinic will include innovative start-ups and emerging growth companies who are members of HQ Raleigh, student and faculty led entrepreneurial ventures at Campbell, NCSU and other local universities, and other-profit entrepreneurs and their ventures that are part of the greater Raleigh/RTP ecosystem. The clinical faculty will be responsible for teaching students the relevant substantive law and supervising students as they advise and work for clients. It is expected that the clinic will operate during the law school's academic terms. Located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, Campbell University School of Law is a highly demanding, purposely small community of faculty and students whose aim, guided by transcendent values, is to develop lawyers who possess moral conviction, social compassion and professional competence, and who view the practice of law as a calling to serve others and to create a more just society. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement course curriculum provided by the Associate Dean Meet grading and other deadlines as set by the Associate Dean Present classes to students as requred Supervise students in accordance with the regulations of the N.C. State Bar Create and administer formative and summative assessment Evaluate and assess student performance Participate in departmental, faculty and staff meetings as requested Interact with students and answer questions pertaining to class outside class time, as needed. Participate in student evaluations Use and maintain course materials and related items in the provided learning management system Handle student record keeping in a timely and complete manner including sumitting grades Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times Uphold and abide by Campbell Law School and Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including FERPA and other state and federal regulations Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice
Education/Experience:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school Other graduate/professional education in related field of study desired Teaching experience in higher education is strongly desired Significant experience in corporate law, with specific experience with advising start-ups
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, university officials and outside constituencies Technological proficiency, including an ability to learn and deliver remote instruction Ability to work independently and function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people Exercise independent judgment as necessary This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work with the Christian mission of Campbell University
