Position Summary The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Open Rank Visiting Lecturer in Health Administration beginning August 2026. This is a one-year temporary appointment. Applicants must hold a master's degree or doctoral degree (PhD, DHA, or related doctorate) in Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field by date of appointment. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. For best consideration, all materials must be received by June 1, 2026. The faculty member will be expected to teach graduate-level courses in Health Administration, including core and elective offerings within the Master of Health Administration curriculum. Potential teaching areas include health information technology, data analytics, healthcare quality, healthcare ethics, leadership and management, and related areas within health administration and health services. This is a teaching-focused appointment that includes student advising and participation in service and programmatic activities. Teaching assignments may involve multiple course preparations and varied instructional modalities. Qualifications Minimum and Preferred Criteria :
Minimum Master's degree or doctoral degree (PhD, DHA, or related doctorate) in Health Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field by date of appointment (or application). Evidence of primary specialization in health administration, healthcare leadership, or health services, as demonstrated through academic training and/or substantial professional and applied experience. Preferred Demonstrated strength in teaching at the graduate level Demonstrated ability to teach a broad range of courses in health administration, with particular strength or experience in areas such as healthcare quality, leadership, healthcare ethics, health information technology, data analytics, and related core areas of the MHA curriculum Demonstrated ability to contribute to core areas of the MHA curriculum and programmatic needs Demonstrated experience teaching in online and/or hybrid modalities, including the use of instructional technologies to support student learning Ability to mentor diverse students at the graduate level Demonstrated professional and/or applied experience in health administration, healthcare leadership, or health services delivery Demonstrated commitment to effective teaching and student learning in a practice-oriented or applied context Demonstrated commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the University's mission to serve local and global communities Application Instructions Only applications submitted through the official UNMJobs site will be accepted.
