Job Description
The Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach graduate-level courses in public health with a focus on child health, adolescent health, immigrant health, and maternal health. Adjunct faculty will design and deliver coursework that reflects current research, practice, and policy in these areas, while bringing applied perspectives from professional or community-based experience into the classroom. We seek educators who are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students and to prepare the next generation of public health leaders. The Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health is dedicated to advancing health and well-being through innovative research, transformative education, and meaningful engagement with communities and policymakers, all driven by a commitment to human rights, equity, and social justice. The Department is a global leader in developing innovative frameworks and scientific solutions to advance population health and address urgent global challenges, including those affecting the rising generation, an aging society, increasing migration, gender disparities, rapid urbanization, and the critical intersection of health and climate change. Courses are offered in person at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center campus. Teaching compensation will be determined by class duration and size. Candidates should hold an advanced degree (MPH, DrPH, PhD, MD, JD, or equivalent) in public health or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the focus areas. Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is preferred. Interested candidates are invited to submit a current CV or resume.
