Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Nursing to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality clinical education in various nursing disciplines to prepare our students for success in their future careers. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of nursing principles and the ability to convey these concepts to students with clarity and enthusiasm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide on-site clinical instruction in an array of nursing experiences, depending on expertise such as OB, Pediatrics, ICU, and Medical Surgical Nursing Assess student performance in clinical experiences and provide constructive feedback. Engage students through dynamic facilitation methods and foster an environment conducive to learning. Offer additional support and guidance to students as needed. QUALIFICATIONS and
EDUCATION
BSN degree All nurse faculty shall: (1) hold a valid unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma; (2) present evidence of a minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent practice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting preceding the first date of first employment as a nursing faculty member; and (3) engage in teaching, scholarship, service and/or practice in keeping with the mission, goals, and expected faculty outcomes. (Oklahoma Board of Nursing rules, 485:10-5-5.2, pg. 13). Prior clinical teaching experience in Nursing highly preferred Strong foundation and practical knowledge in various nursing areas Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles Flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff
COMPUTER SKILLS
Web conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet) Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L) Google apps and/or Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands as appropriate for successful performance in this position (e.g. clinicals, teaching and interacting with students). Operate a computer with a keyboard, pointing device, webcam, and speakers Stand and sit for extended periods Walk around the clinical site and to/from parking lots and buildings Stand, bend, and crouch Reach, grasp, move, and hold objects Verbally express information or instructions Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 pounds Exercise clear vision at 20 inches or less and adjust focus Judge distances and spatial relationships
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Clinical and classroom settings.
