Adjunct Faculty - Medical Ethics for Master of Biomedical Science Position Type Adjunct Faculty Track Non Tenure Employment Status Part Time Months Campus Remote Description Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE's online programs. The role of the faculty in CPS is to facilitate the learning process for online students through timely and effective instruction and communication. Instructors also serve as mentors, sharing their experience to help guide students and ensure they achieve their educational and professional goals. The faculty facilitates the retention of students through creating a positive educational environment, allowing for students to derive the maximum benefits from the program in which they are enrolled. Instructors will receive supervision, collaboration, and guidance from the UNE Online Master of Biomedical Science (MBS) Program. Responsibilities Providing expert and graduate level knowledge in Medical Ethics Guiding students through their educational experience while upholding and adhering to the CPS commitment to student success Providing timely response to student inquiries, within 24 hours Facilitating class instruction by engaging in the online course portal a minimum of 5 times per week Hosting a minimum of one hour of virtual office hours per week Posting weekly announcements to enhance course content Having excellent collaborative and communication skills Willingness to analyze best practices in online education Qualifications Experience teaching online in an academic setting and demonstrates expertise in ethics or a related field, with a strong commitment to student engagement and substantive feedback. Master's degree in related field - PhD preferred A minimum of three years of teaching experience in medical ethics, bioethics, or related content within health professions education A desire to motivate and encourage students in academic and professional settings Expertise teaching online and the desire to learn and apply new technological approaches to education Experience using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management system EEO Statement Summary Consistent with federal and state law and University policy, the University of New England is committed to the fundamental concept of equal opportunity for all of the members of the University community.
