Job Description
Position Summary:
The Department of Life Sciences at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking applications for part-time instructors to teach the following courses during the Fall 2026 semester: undergraduate General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Biology, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology lab courses, undergraduate Biochemistry lecture course, and online graduate recitation course The above courses, except for the online graduate recitation course, will be offered in-person and on-campus. Positions will run from August 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.Note:
All remote work must be done in a state in which the College is registered to do business in (New York, California, Idaho, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Texas, Wisconsin, Vermont). Compensation is $4600/lecture course and $3900/lab course. Applicants should submit a CV and a cover letter outlining the courses they are interested in teaching.Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, and grading Providing weekly office hours to support studentsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Commitment to excellence in teaching and student development Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal skills, and organizational skills Positive attitude and strong work ethic Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, Office 365,OneDrive, and Zoom Education and Experience:
Possess an advanced degree or relevant experience in the field of instruction. Ideal candidates will have excellent subject knowledge, teaching skill, and prior experience working with students bound for graduate or professional schools.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The part-time Adjunct Instructor positions in the Department of Life Sciences are based in Albany, NY. The duties and responsibilities require consistent, in-person collaboration and interaction with our community, and all work is expected to be performed on-site, except for the online graduate recitation course, which may be delivered remotely. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.Note:
