Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical Faculty member to join our esteemed Nursing College. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in medical-surgical nursing, with extensive experience in teaching, curriculum development, and clinical supervision within hospital and academic settings. This role offers an opportunity to influence future healthcare professionals through innovative instruction, research, and leadership in patient care. The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in adult education, nursing administration, and clinical practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational experiences aligned with current healthcare standards. Duties Teach medical-surgical nursing courses according to the curriculum, and integrating current evidence-based practices and learning technologies such on ATI, and Canvas Mentor students , emphasizing patient care, documentation review, and care plan development. Lead classroom instruction utilizing adult education principles to foster engaging learning environments for diverse student populations. Collaborate with the admin. and interdisciplinary teams to ensure clinical experiences meet educational objectives and accreditation standards. Conduct research related to nursing education, patient outcomes, or healthcare delivery to contribute to scholarly publications and conference presentations. Participate in curriculum development initiatives that incorporate critical care experience, ICU procedures, pediatrics, and primary care topics. Review clinical documentation and assessment tools to ensure compliance with institutional policies and educational goals. Engage in faculty activities such as faculty meetings, and curriculum development quality improvement of the nursing program. Qualifications Proven experience in higher education teaching within a university or teaching hospital environment specializing in medical-surgical nursing. Supervising experience with student nurses or healthcare trainees across clinical settings. Strong knowledge of nursing terminology, documentation standards, and healthcare regulations. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development utilizing learning technology platforms such as Canvas, ATI and Evolve. Critical care experience including ICU or acute care settings is highly desirable. Experience working with adult learners in classroom or clinical environments with a focus on pediatrics or senior care is preferred. Background in research related to nursing practice or healthcare education is advantageous. Excellent communication skills coupled with leadership abilities necessary for nurse management or nursing administration roles.
