Working Title Temporary Full-Time Lecturer (OYA) in the Department of Health & Biomedical Sciences (Master of Science in Health Sciences) 2026-2027 Location Rio Grande Valley, Texas Division/Organization Division of Health Affairs Appointment Period for Non-Tenure Position 1 year Tenure Status Non Tenure Track FTE 1.0 Scope of Job We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a Temporary Full-Time Lecturer OYA beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. Ability to teach health informatics coursework in the online setting, completion of UTRGV's required online teaching training, and the ability to hold online office hours/provide student support are required. UTRGV faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and to advancing the university, college, and program missions, as well as a commitment to UTRGV's strategic plan, vision, mission, values, and core priorities. Minimum Qualifications A doctoral or master's degree in a health profession, public health, health science, healthcare informatics, or healthcare administration. A master's degree in another health field/profession appropriate for the course subject matter may be considered. Applicants with a master's degree must have 3 years' work experience or one peer-reviewed, scholarly publication in the field. One year of experience teaching public health, health science professions/disciplines, healthcare informatics, or healthcare administration courses. Credentialing in healthcare informatics or a closely related discipline. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications N/A Preferred Qualification Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency in technology, are required. Online teaching experience in healthcare informatics-related coursework preferred, along with Quality Matters APPQMR certification.
