Asst/Assoc Professor - Department of Internal Medicine42900BR42900BRPosition DescriptionWe are looking for a physician to diagnose and treat a wide range of internal medicine conditions with the potential to specialize in a subspecialty area such as cardiology, critical care, endocrinology; gastroenterology, infectious disease, oncology or nephrology.

Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential FunctionsProvides medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients;Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families;Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments;Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients;Orders studies, test and ancillary services;Documents all services in patient medical record;Consults with other departments and medical staff professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues;Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements;Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, patient care, research and service; Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures;Teaches internal medicine residents, outside rotators, NP's, PA's and medical students through lectures and in clinics/hospitals. Giving lectures and teaching sessions to fellows, residents and medical students.

Occasional DutiesProviding coverage for faculty within the department as requested or needed.
