Principal Faculty Physician Assistant Program (Full-Time)

& SCHEDULEThis is an onsite position and follows a full-time faculty schedule. Work involves classroom teaching, clinical skills instruction, committee participation, and student engagement. Occasional participation in university or professional activities outside of standard teaching hours may be required.ABOUT THE
ROLEThis is a full-time University faculty position with academic rank based on the appointees academic and experiential qualifications. The incumbent serving in this position is primarily responsible for generating and delivering classroom lectures and clinical skills instruction within the basic medical and clinical science topics for which he/she is qualified.WHY THIS ROLE
MATTERSThis role directly impacts student learning, professional readiness, and the success of future Physician Assistants. Through high-quality instruction, mentorship, and curriculum development, the Principal Faculty member supports accreditation standards, strengthens program outcomes, and advances the universitys mission of preparing competent, compassionate healthcare professionals.WHAT YOU WILL DO
(CORERESPONSIBILITIES
) Design original or review and modify existing curricula as appropriate to correlate with established or new course and program outcomes and implement curricula in harmony with the educational approach of the program through active course direction and instructionParticipate in activities of state, regional, and national organizations to promote a positive image of the PA concept within academic, lay, and professional communitiesMentor, advise, instruct, and evaluate students within areas of healthcare pertinent to PA practicePursue professional development activities such as clinical practice, scholarly works, or an advanced degree (instructors new to PA education are expected to participate in the Universitys Healthcare Professional Education Certificate program)Provide service to the program by serving on Program-level committees and teamsRepresent the program through service on University-level committeesFaculty is not to act as a health care provider for students in the program, except in an emergency.Administrative Responsibilities:

Graduate-level terminal degree (Masters required; Doctorate preferred)Physician Assistant with current NCCPA certificationExperience:
1 or more year(s) clinical experience strongly preferredTeaching experience in an educational setting, graduate healthcare education preferredSkills & Abilities:
Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, instructional faculty including adjunct faculty and guest instructors, and organizational administrators Proficiency in the use of computers for the organization, word processing, and communicationSelf-motivated with refined organizational skillsEnthusiastic about working in a collaborative environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
