Position:
This is a full-time, instruction-focused, non-tenure track, nine-month faculty appointment. Position teaches and develops advanced undergraduate and graduate neuroscience courses to contribute to the expansion of the program. Specific duties include teaching a standard course load (typically 4:4 or 3:3 with additional advising or administrative duties). Courses may include introductory neuroscience, core neuroscience courses and lecture or laboratory courses in the incumbent's area of expertise. The position assists with program duties such as academic advising, program development, committee work, and new student events.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Duties Teaches and develops advanced undergraduate and graduate neuroscience courses to contribute to the expansion of the program. Specific duties include teaching a standard course load (typically 4:4 or 3:3 teaching with additional advising or administrative duties). Administrative duties Participates in faculty committees within IPN as well as College of Science and the university as a whole; and Performs program outreach on campus and in the local area. Mentors and advises students.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a Ph.D. in neuroscience, biology or a related field prior to the first day of work; potential for excellent teaching and capacity for course and laboratory development; Knowledge of neuroscience, biology or a related field; Ability to provide excellent teaching and capacity for course and laboratory development; Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; and Ability and willingness to teach courses in computational neuroscience, general neuroscience, research experience courses, and/or other upper-level courses in the applicant's area of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
