Assistant/Associate Professor:
Faculty University of Lynchburg, Lynchburg, Virginia. The School of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time (12 month) assistant/associate professor, nontenure track position. This position will work directly with the DMSc leadership team for the innovative and visionary doctorate education for PAs wishing to advance their academic credentials with emphasis in leadership and advanced clinical medicine. The candidate selected for this position will engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities consistent with the requirements of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, collaborate with local community agencies and healthcare providers, and actively pursue involvement in professional organizations at the regional, state, national, and international levels.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists the DMSc Program Director and Associate Program Director in the organization, administration, continuous and periodic review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program Assists in the preparation of administrative reports as requested and assigned by the Program Director Assists in development, review, and revision of both the school mission statement and the DMSc mission statement Participates in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum Course Director for assigned courses in the Doctor of Medical Science degree program. Course Lead and/or Concentration Lead in the Doctor of Medical Science degree program Strong contributor to the growth of the School of Medicine & Health Science in regards to curricular and program development Assists in the coordination and scheduling of all courses and classes Reviews the Student Handbook annually Schedules and assists with student remediation as needed Assists in the interview and selection of faculty members Provides for the continuous review and update of all course materials and learning objectives Provides security for all course and examination materials Assists with the maintenance and coordination of the course schedule with the staff team Provides assistance with the ongoing assessment and review of the curriculum each semester Reviews instruments for student and faculty course evaluations Assists in other duties as assigned by the Program Director Attends all scheduled staff and faculty meetings Assists with coordination and assessment of the function of all adjunct faculty Teaches online Doctor of Medical Science courses with which he/she has demonstrated competence and/or experience Teaches Masters of PA Medicine courses with which he/she has demonstrated competence and/or experience to be delivered through hybrid model of focused onsite instruction followed by online course delivery (when feasible within curriculum) Mentoring and advising responsibility within the master's and doctoral research projects Essential Functions - Students Provides and facilitates advising/counseling for students Reviews academic performance with students as needed Provides remediation for students with sub-standard performance as needed and appropriate Advises the Program Director of any problems related to student behavior, academic performance, or professionalism Member of the Doctor of Medical Science Program committees as assigned Upholds values and mission of the

NCCPA certified PA Virginia PA license or licensure in the state of residence Minimum of a doctoral degree in a health related field. Greater than 5 years of clinical experience Experience teaching in a PA program, medical school, or clinical instruction required Experience with developing/working managing online curriculum Experience in communities with multi-cultural and multi-lingual students and healthcare providers Teaching, scholarship, and service interests in multifaceted healthcare communities Strong commitment to underserved populations and improving healthcare access Required Attendance Weekly in person faculty/committee meetings
