Clinical Instructor, Hospitalist/Nocturnist, Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, UW Medicine Position Details Position Description The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a physician Hospitalist and/or Nocturnist, full time clinical faculty position at the rank of Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. The base salary range for this position, for both the Clinical Instructor and Clinical Assistant Professor titles, will be $13,834-$33,333 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position will include a temporary salary supplement (TPS) of $6,166 monthly and moonlighting opportunities. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the full spectrum of inpatient cardiology patients, ranging from general and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure and transplant. This will be done working with and in consultation with cardiologists and cardiology advanced practice providers. The job is a flexible mix of day and night shifts. As an academic center, there is overnight supervision and teaching of medicine residents. Comfort with managing intensive care patients, including basic ventilator management and placement of arterial and central lines are preferred but not required. Qualifications Applicants for this full-time clinical faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications: The minimum requirements for this position are as follows: MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in internal medicine or cardiovascular diseases. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
