Job Description

SUPERVISOR - CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION
(CTE) Mobile County Administrative Job Number 2300290183 Start Date Open Date 05/06/2026 Closing Date The duties include but are not limited to: Supervises Business Management Administration, CIT, IT, and Work Based Learning. Manages and facilitates purchases of equipment, including computers for supervised programs. Assists in the development of career and technical education and work readiness programs. Establishes clear goals and specific achievement objectives for career and technical education and work ready programs. Supports the integration of academic core standards into the career and technical education curriculum. Maintains an effective career and technical education program, services. Aligns career and technical education programs with student and school needs identified using academic data, career and technical education standards. Models, assists and monitors the implementation of the career and technical education program. Assesses the career and technical education program and materials and human resources to direct and maintain effective program. Coordinates career and technical education professional development and training. Assists with summer programs. Assists with the coordination of dual enrollment and articulation opportunities with post-secondary institutions. Assists with the textbook adoption process. Identifies and responds to proposal and grant opportunities. Demonstrates effective leadership and management skills. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. Prepares and administers budgets. Responds to parent concerns and requests and all other stakeholders as appropriate. Assumes any and all duties and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director of Career and Technical Education.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid Alabama Certification in Administration/Supervision/Curriculum. Must provide three (3) letters of recommendation from within the last three (3) years, one of which from an immediate supervisor. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience. Must attach a resume to your online application. Must have knowledge of and skills in: curriculum and instruction, career technical certification, assessment, evaluation, program management, technology, leadership skills. Teaching experience in BMA, CIT, IT, or WBL is preferred. Duty Days 260
Salary Range:
From/To Beginning pay - $70,449.00 Additional Job Information •Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.•
