Job Description
Job Summary:
The Director of Academic Affairs at Huntingdon College ensures the smooth, confidential, and student-centered operation of the Office of Academic Affairs. Partnering closely with the Chief Academic Officer, this role coordinates core academic processes, supports faculty, and advances student-centered initiatives. Key Responsibilities Office Leadership and Mission Support Oversee daily operations of Academic Affairs in alignment with the college's mission and student-first values Anticipate needs of the Chief Academic Officer and ensure timely follow-through on priorities Academic Administration Processes and Documentation Manage confidential documentation including faculty files, coordinates faculty searches, prepares contracts (full-time and adjunct), facilitates onboarding/offboarding of all faculty Track faculty rank, tenure, and promotion processes and maintain accurate records Calendar, Scheduling, and Meetings Manage the Chief Academic Officer's calendar; coordinate agendas, materials, and follow-up Attend Academic Effectiveness Committee and other key meetings to take minutes and link outcomes to ongoing Academic Affairs work Budget and Operations Coordination Collaborate with the business office to support academic budgets and stewardship Streamline workflows and implement process improvements for accuracy and compliance Event Planning and Academic Ceremonies Coordinate Awards Convocation, and support Commencement and other campus celebrations Provide on-site logistical support to ensure smooth, student- and faculty-centered events Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Partner with associate deans, Staton Center, Access Services, and other College administrators to advance academic initiatives Serve as a reliable point of contact for students, faculty, and staff, fostering a collegial, service-minded culture Data Management, Technology, and Confidentiality Maintain faculty PII and academic records in institutional systems per policy Use Google Workspace and related tools to manage documents, data, and shared workflows Required QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's degree preferredExperience:
Office management and administrative support experience preferredTechnical Skills:
Proficiency in Google Workspace; comfortable learning institutional systems and using AI tools responsibly to improve efficiencySoft Skills:
Proactive problem-solver; highly organized; excellent communication; collaborative partner who embraces strategic, novel, and routine tasksCompliance/Other:
Proven discretion and confidentiality; ability to pass a background check; occasional evening/weekend support for academic eventsCompensation:
