Undergraduate Medical Education Coordinator Healthy Rural California Chico, CA Job Details Full-time $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Teamwork Program development Education Public Health Time management Full Job Description Position Summary The Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, programmatic, and operational support to Healthy Rural California's medical pathway initiatives, with a primary focus on medical student coordination, third-year clinical training, and physician pipeline development. This role supports strengthening and accelerating regional medical education pathways from undergraduate exposure through third-year and fourth-year medical student training. The position is designed to increase the number of physicians practicing in high-need specialties and in under-resourced and physician shortage areas throughout Northern California, with an emphasis in supporting branch campus planning. The UME Coordinator serves as a central liaison between medical students, faculty, residency leadership, academic institutions, and community clinical partners. This role reports to the COO contributing to the long-term sustainability of the physician workforce pipeline in the region. Duties and Responsibilities Medical Student Coordination & Support Serve as the primary point of contact for medical students rotating through HRC-supported programs. Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and offboarding for medical students, and collect feedback for improvement. Support medical students throughout their rotations, ensuring a high-quality educational experience aligned with program goals. Coordinate and invite medical students to local educational, professional, and community events. Initiate, execute, and maintain affiliation agreements with academic institutions and sites. Maintain student tracking systems for compliance. Ensure student materials are aligned with AAMC standards. Coordinate with leadership and sites to schedule medical student rotations based on site availability and educational capacity. Recruit and identify new community-based clinical sites to support medical student and third-year rotations. Ensure completion and submission of student evaluations to partner institutions. Branch Campus & Third-Year Medical Student Development Provide administrative support to the planning of a branch campus model with UC Davis and Touro University in partnership with Chico State and Enloe. Support the development and implementation of an established framework that enables third-year medical students to complete clinical training within the local community. Assist with communication, documentation, and logistical support related to branch campus planning efforts, under the direction of designated institutional leads. Provide administrative support to the DME, site directors, clinical directors to support of developing the 3rd year medical student rotation schedules. Program Collaboration Collaborate with MedEd Program Coordinators to align medical student involvement with MedEd Club programming. Support integrated programming that includes medical students, MedEd Club participants, and residents through: Monthly guest speakers; Professional mentorship opportunities; Hands-on workshops and experiential learning; Pipeline-focused educational events Coordinate opportunities for medical students to participate in MedEd Clubs as mentors and presenters. Coordinate with GME Program Managers to ensure medical student opportunities with residency training. Communication, Compliance & Administration Facilitate communication between medical students, faculty, residency leadership, academic institutions, MedEd Program Coordinators, Residency Program Managers and clinical partners. Maintain accurate records related to rotations, evaluations, affiliations, and grant requirements. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with recordkeeping standards. Provide administrative and operational support to HRC projects as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, healthcare, public health, or a related field. (preferred) Minimum of six (6) months of administrative, program coordination, or internship experience in healthcare, education, public health, nonprofit, or community-based organizations. Strong interest in medical education, physician workforce development, and healthcare access in rural and underserved communities. Familiarity with medical education pathways, healthcare careers, and academic or clinical training environments preferred. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and institutions. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic, grant-funded environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with recordkeeping and privacy standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online systems commonly used in academic and clinical settings. Work Environment This position includes a combination of office-based work and coordination with academic institutions, clinical sites, and community partners. Occasional travel and participation in educational events and meetings may be required.

$25.00 per hour
