What You Will Do To develop a comprehensive fundraising program for assigned service line(s) and/or entities, focusing on major and planned gifts by regularly securing $1 million or more of annual gift revenue. Collaborate with both the Donor Engagement and hospital campus fundraising teams in the implementation of all fundraising activities. Staff and support the Philanthropy Council. Work with Joint Operations Team (JOT) on the development of the funding objectives and timely distribution of funds, with a goal of distributing $1 million or more annually in support of programs and capital projects. The Major Gift Officer is responsible for the success of philanthropy programs through leadership of donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Business, Marketing, Communications or related filed. 5 Years fundraising experience. Essential Functions Philanthropy Program Provide leadership to the Philanthropy program with the goal of delivering a minimum of $1 million in funding per year to assigned entity(ies) for a variety of uses. Staff and provide leadership to the Philanthropy Council which will lead the fundraising efforts on behalf of the entity(ies) in alignment with the Foundation and entity strategic plans. Lead the comprehensive philanthropy program with a goal of distributing a minimum of $1 million or more of funding each year. Prepare annual philanthropy plan and update the case for support and identify priority initiatives. Coordinate and execute fundraising activities including patients, physicians and employees and other donor prospects. Lead the

campaign and achieve fundraising goals within given timeline. Engage physician and executive leadership in fundraising activities. Work with the Major Gift team to plan gift planning programs and seminars. Work with Foundation leadership (CDOs and VP Donor Engagement) to create a network of allied physician liaisons across all affiliated sites. Recruit employee giving champions and volunteers and conduct annual employee giving campaign. Work with the Donor Engagement Team to coordinate the presentation of Guardian Angel awards including assistance from physicians and leaders and Sharp team members. The Major Gift Officer will work with entity leadership to develop and update on an annual basis, the Case for Support and funding objectives; including specific objectives for capital, technology, program, research and workforce development support. The case and objectives will be published and incorporated in fundraising presentations and collateral. The case will include both annual and long-term objectives. Major Gifts While the Foundation will continue to acquire donors through the Guardian Angel and digital philanthropy programs, and physician giving, focus will be on the cultivation and solicitation of a minimum of 20 prospective donors for gifts of $10,000 or more through the work of the Major Gift Officer and the Philanthropy Council. Identify and maintain a dynamic portfolio of major gift prospects. Cultivate and solicit major gift prospects to meet annual metrics while recruiting staff, physicians and volunteers to help in this effort. Work with Donor Engagement Team to transition donors from annual giving to major/planned giving cultivation. Ensure that all major gift donors receive appropriate, consistent recognition and an accounting of the impact their gift has made. Confidentiality This position has access to confidential and sensitive information regarding patient data through the Epic system and Raiser's Edge. The employee is expected to access the minimum amount of information necessary to accomplish the job responsibilities which are limited to: patient name, address, dates of services, marital status, spouse name, company, affiliation and facility. Utilization for fund raising purposes cannot be based on information that may be viewed as a result of access to demographic information. Team Player Actively participate in the Sharp HealthCare Foundation Major Gift team (serve on internal committees and projects). Adhere to all business practices for tracking actions in RE donor base. Serve as a public speaker on behalf of Sharp HealthCare and philanthropy. Represent the Foundation at all appropriate activities, meetings, and events. Become active in the community through membership and/or participation in suitable community organizations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to plan, organize and direct service line fund raising activities. Must be able to coordinate with allied partners, actively listen, engage, solicit and close six figure gifts. Have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to formulate and express ideas and concepts clearly and concisely with special sensitivity to the needs of health care professionals, donors, and physicians. Must be able to write effective and successful requests for funding. Must be personable, articulate, diplomatic and able to motivate individuals and groups with differing points of view.
