Job Description

The Manager of Education Programs provides comprehensive programmatic leadership and operational management for assigned programs and events within the Center's Education and Engagement Department. This role oversees the planning, execution, fiscal management, technical coordination, and cross-departmental collaboration required to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned arts education experiences. Assigned programs include, but are not limited to, Family Series, On Stage at the Center, Master Classes, summer camps (including Five Days of Broadway), Young Artist Training and award ceremonies, Technical Theater Training and shadowing programs, talkbacks, and other special events as assigned. This position reports to and works closely with the Senior Manager, Education Programs. This position also works alongside the full education and engagement team to support departmental goals and objectives. This opportunity is full-time, 40 hours per week.
JOB DUTIES
Provide programmatic management of assigned programs and events. Collaborate and communicate with department leadership on all aspects of managed programs. Identify opportunities for program innovation, growth, and expanded community impact in alignment with the Center's strategic priorities. Formalize, implement, and continuously improve all operational systems, internal processes, and workflows necessary for the effective and efficient execution of assigned programs. Manage and ensure execution of projects and communications for the full lifecycle of assigned programs, including planning, scheduling, coordination, implementation, execution, and evaluation. Directly supervise and provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to assigned staff, interns, teaching artists, contractors, and/or volunteers. Oversee cast, crew, program participants, and teaching artists involved in assigned programs, addressing and resolving escalated personnel matters with professionalism and discretion. Monitor budgets and oversee the fiscal operations of assigned programs, including expense tracking, invoice processing, revenue monitoring, and ensuring alignment with approved financial plans. Coordinate the set up and technical needs of assigned programs in collaboration with Production and Campus Operations teams, including staging, lighting, sound, space configuration, and equipment needs. Manage artist arrangements in collaboration with agencies and representatives related to Education program selections, including contracting processes, technical riders, and communication. \ Serve as the liaison for assigned programs between Education and Engagement and internal departments including Marketing, Campus Operations, Programming, Development, Production, Finance, and Guest Services to ensure seamless coordination and alignment. Act as point person for fundraising events connected to assigned programs and provide necessary information, materials, and coordination support to Development. Collaborate with Marketing on strategies and provide feedback as needed on print, video, web-based, and multimedia materials related to assigned programs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with educational objectives. Create and edit written materials including educational guides, engagement activities, participant handbooks, program schedules, run-of-show documents, internal process documentation, and promotional content. Manage program registration systems, participant enrollment, data tracking, and communication with students, parents, patrons, educators, and artists. Manage summer camps and training programs, ensuring structured environment, staff coordination, family communication, and participant supervision. Manage Young Artist Training programs, Technical Theater Training initiatives, shadowing programs, and award ceremonies to ensure educational rigor and high-quality participant experiences. Coordinate Master Classes and artist-led learning experiences, including the creation of an annual class schedule to meet all program goals, preparation of participants, technical needs, and educational framing. Support Family Series programming by integrating educational components and engagement strategies that serve diverse audiences. Track participation metrics, demographic data, and program outcomes to support evaluation, grant reporting, and institutional assessment. Collect and analyze feedback from participants, artists, and stakeholders to inform program improvements and strategic planning. Prepare reports and presentations to support leadership review, board reporting, fundraising initiatives, and promotional efforts. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, youth protection standards, accessibility guidelines, and safety procedures. Provide on-site leadership during program execution, troubleshooting challenges and ensuring an exceptional participant and audience experience. Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Theater, Performing Arts, Arts Education, Nonprofit Management, Education or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience, with a strong understanding of arts administration desired. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in arts administration, performing arts education, or program management within a cultural institution, nonprofit, or performing arts organization. Experience supervising staff, interns, teaching artists, and/or contractors. Experience monitoring program budgets, tracking expenses, and managing fiscal operations. Knowledge of theater production processes, including technical requirements, staging, and coordination with production teams is preferred. Experience working with artists, agents, and artistic representatives is a plus. Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent programs. Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and levels of staff. Comfortable in a professional office setting using available computer technology, with an ability for learning new software. Experience with Tessitura database and/or Monday.com Is a plus. Experience working with youth is a plus.

Compensation Range:
