Job Description

Position Overview The High School Academic Director oversees all academic support services for grades 8-12, helping students maximize GPA performance, navigate rigorous coursework, prepare for standardized testing, and build strong academic foundations for college admissions. The role serves as the primary academic advisor for students and families, providing personalized guidance on course selection, academic planning, and long-term educational goals. Responsibilities Academic Advising
  • Review student transcripts and report cards
  • Monitor GPA and academic progress
  • Develop individualized academic plans
  • Recommend Honors, AP, Dual Enrollment, and summer coursework
  • Support students transitioning into competitive high schools High School Planning
  • Build 4-year academic roadmaps
  • Guide AP and Honors course selection
  • Advise on graduation requirements
  • Support students pursuing competitive college admissions Student Management
  • Conduct quarterly academic reviews
  • Track assignment completion and study habits
  • Coordinate intervention plans when performance declines
  • Develop strategies for time management and academic success Parent Communication
  • Meet regularly with families
  • Explain GPA trends and academic standing
  • Provide recommendations for academic improvement
  • Support families in navigating high school expectations Program Leadership
  • Oversee tutors and academic coaches
  • Manage Study Hall programs
  • Coordinate AP, SAT, and academic support services
  • Maintain instructional quality and consistency

  • Familiarity with UC, CSU, and private university admissions
  • Experience advising students in grades 8-12
Pay:
$28.00 - $45.00 per hour
