Job Title Director of Admissions, Marketing, and Outreach Introduction Bayhill School serves students in grades 7-12 with mild to moderate learning differences, providing a personalized, strengths-based educational experience in a small, supportive community. The Ideal Candidate Given the nature of our work with neurodivergent learners, the ideal candidate may be a former educator with a strong understanding of learning differences who is looking to remain in the field of education while transitioning into an administrative role. They may also have prior experience in admissions and be ready to take on greater responsibility and leadership. Above all, the ideal candidate is warm, collaborative, and welcoming, with exceptional interpersonal skills. They are a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships with students, families, and community partners, and possesses strong public speaking, outreach, and relationship-building abilities. Employee Duties & Responsibilities The Director of Admissions, Marketing, and Outreach will be responsible for the direction and leadership of all admissions, marketing, and outreach efforts at Bayhill School. This is a full-time, year-round position that reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is an integral component of the vitality and longevity of the school and its mission. This position will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that all functionsl are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities include the following:
Admissions To oversee the program of admissions of new students to the school from initial inquiry to acceptance, ensuring students are in align with our mission. To present the school to prospective students and parents, which includes systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with candidates and their parents; interviews with candidates and their parents; arrangements for initial meetings and shadow days; securing of necessary student documents; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals. To interpret Psycho-educational reports to identify the appropriateness of students for the school and placement into classes. To oversee the admissions office, create the admissions plan, and execute a highly effective marketing plan. To plan and execute programs that enhance public perception of the school. To initiate and lead activities intended to interest parents in sending students to the school: Open houses, professional events, furthering contacts and interactions with middle schools, and referring professionals. Attend high school fairs and educational conferences to promote awareness of the school to appropriate audiences. To organize and administer, with the Executive Director the program for financial aid. To evaluate continually and redesign where appropriate all aspects of the admissions program to maintain a capacity enrollment of qualified students and a waitlist of qualified applicants. To oversee the network of parents, former parents, and alumni to assist in the admissions program. To keep relevant statistics on all aspects of the admissions and re-enrollment program. To perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. To support the school and its leadership. Marketing and Social Media Develop a coordinated Marketing Plan each year that includes print and digital advertising, social media outreach, trade conferences, outreach to our referral base, and other marketing efforts and events to increase awareness of the school to prospective students. Regular social media engagement at a rate of 3-5 posts per week and regular industry blogs. Event planning to include professional events, trade shows, speaker series, and other events per the marketing plan. Work with the director and graphic designer to develop a more effective brand marketing strategy to include updates to the brochure and website. Maintain the website with regular content and updates by coordinating with the director, key staff, and our website hosts. Work with our web hosts to improve SEO and increase traffic to the website. Outreach Coordinate regular visits to and from middle schools and our professional referral base to increase awareness and engagement with Bayhill High School. Research trade show conferences and create a strategy for attending key events to promote the school. Research community events in the East Bay appropriate for participation by the school to increase awareness. Research and coordinate with organizations with similar missions that can help increase the school's connections and image within the neurodivergent community. After-school & Summer School Work with the executive director and other staff to plan possible after school offerings.
