Job Description

Trinidad State College is seeking a highly motivated and student-focused Automotive Technology Faculty member to join the Career and Technical Education division on the Trinidad Campus. This is a full-time, nine-month, permanent position that reports directly to the Dean of Instruction. The successful candidate will teach and support students in a hands-on Automotive Technology program that prepares students for employment in the automotive service and repair industry. The position includes instruction in automotive systems, student advising, industry engagement, program development, and participation in college service activities. Teach 15 credit hours per semester in Automotive Technology courses using lecture, lab, and hands-on instructional methods. Develop and maintain curriculum aligned with industry standards and emerging automotive technologies. Maintain a safe and effective automotive lab environment and ensure equipment is properly maintained. Utilize instructional technology and D2L/Brightspace to support student learning. Assess student learning outcomes and participate in program assessment activities. Provide academic advising, mentoring, and career guidance to students. Participate in curriculum development, program review, and accreditation activities. Assist with student recruitment, outreach, and retention. Develop partnerships with local automotive employers and industry partners. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Instruction or Division Chair. Associate degree or evaluated experience. Experience teaching undergraduate, introductory courses in Automotive. Experience teaching at a community college Experience with instructional technology (Internet,instructionalsoftware,D2L,etc.) Ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional formats and settings(i.e., off-campus, evenings, etc.) weekends, accelerated, online) Ability to be credentialed utilizing the Colorado Community College System, Career and Technical Education requirements.
