Educators with experience teaching in Montessori and International Baccalaureate are strongly encouraged contact our academic leadership: Jess Bradfield, Head of the Whitby Montessori Children's House (preschool through kindergarten) Laura McDermott, Head of Lower School (Grades 1-4) Michelle Jones, Head of Middle School (Grades 5-8) Associate Director of Admissions The Associate Director of Admissions plays a significant role in shaping the initial impressions and ongoing experiences of families throughout the student application and enrollment process. This person understands and exhibits a professional manner at all times, realizing appearance, actions and comments are a reflection upon the school. The Associate Director of Admissions attends admission and communication events, as well as other school events as requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to oversee all aspects of the admissions process, including communication with prospects, applicants, and incoming students, reviewing applications, and promoting the retention of accepted students to matriculation. Assist with planning and implementing open houses, new family events, and various other admissions activities, to promote recruitment and retention efforts. Meet with prospective students and their families during campus visits and lead campus tours. Assist in the tracking of admissions data. Implement and manage the Host Family Program. Maintain and update New Family Portal. Work closely with Marketing and Development Departments, as well as Heads of Section.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or higher required. Knowledge of Montessori and/or IB education preferred. Prior experience in a school environment, preferably within an admissions department Competency with the use of technology; including student information database systems, preferably Veracross. Ability to work collaboratively as a team as well as independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be friendly, outgoing and comfortable interacting with a wide audience of faculty, students, and within the community. Must be available and open to working a variable schedule including some nights, weekends for scheduled events throughout the year.
