Requirements Job Overview The Associate Director for Employer Relations leads the Cawley Career Education Center in the implementation of the center's mission and objectives in the areas of internship and full-time employment opportunities, employer relations, student advising, and recruiting-related educational programming for undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. Work Interactions The Associate Director for Employer Relations reports to the Director of the Cawley Career Education Center and provides oversight and supervision for the staff members whose work focuses on student industry advising, employer relations, on-campus recruiting programs, campus-wide career programs, student services and resources, and first floor operations. The Associate Director manages, supports, and guides these staff members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs as outlined in their position descriptions and the center's mission. Business, Finance, & Consulting The Associate Director will have primary responsibility for industry advising & employer relations for Arts, Media, and Communication with supplemental assistance from a a student industry ambassador. Additionally, the associate director will work closely with the Associate Director of Operations (new position) to coordinate all employer-related activity that is directly managed by the Manager of Recruiting & Leadership Programs. The Associate Director supports the educational mission of the university by providing students with a bridge between the academic and professional communities by developing and cultivating relationships with recruiters to provide full-time and internship opportunities that meet students' needs. The associate director works with faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituents to strengthen the link between Georgetown's liberal arts education and students' professional goals. The associate director oversees the development of strong industry advising services to students by providing guidance and direction to staff members who serve as advisors. Requirements and Qualifications Successful candidates will possess a bachelor's degree At least five years of experience in career counseling or equivalent experience/education A master's degree and six or more years of relevant management and supervisory experience in for-profit or non-profit settings are preferred. Recruiting experience and work in a university environment are preferred Sound judgment, communication, organizational, interpersonal, supervisory, project management, and budgetary skills required Experience in data gathering, analysis, and reporting is necessary Ability to develop rapport with professional staff, undergraduate and graduate students, employers, alumni, and faculty and the ability to speak persuasively to small and large groups are critical Willingness to participate in all aspects of the Cawley Career Education Center and a commitment to educating students within a Student Affairs perspective are essential Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid.
