Job Description

As Washington, DC's oldest Montessori school—and one of the oldest in the nation—Aidan is both a home for families seeking a child-focused education and a leader in the broader Montessori movement. Serving children ages 18 months through grade 6, Aidan prepares students to grow into: Curious thinkers, empowered to wonder, question, and follow their inspiration. Creative Explorers, approaching the world with a "let's go find out" mentality. Compassionate problem-solvers, driven to seek solutions for their community. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management joins a dynamic administrative team who work collaboratively to engage with families in the Washington, DC metropolitan area who are committed to a high quality Montessori education. The Director of Admissions manages all aspects of enrollment including: Conduct all inquiry intake, interviews, and acceptances of prospective families, tracking students from intake through enrollment and beyond; Manage Open House and all admissions events; Participate in events for admissions officers, independent school and area fairs; Work with communications department to manage advertising and outreach for school recruitment; Manage a database of prospective families and accept and re-enroll families using Finalsite EMS; Provide strategic analysis of enrollment patterns and trends to administration and board; Cultivate an open door for parents to share concerns and questions; Coordinate closely with faculty for student recruitment, transitions & placement; Support the outplacement of graduate students and occasional outplacement for ongoing families; Actively meet with families for re-enrollment recruitment and retention; Serve on the financial aid committee; Participate in exit interviews of families graduating, leaving, or moving away; Ability or willingness to collaborate with the Advancement Office. Required Qualifications Superb written and verbal communication skills; 3 to 5 years of experience in independent schools or a Montessori inspired learning environment; Master's degree preferred, but not required; An understanding of independent school admissions; Understanding of Montessori pedagogy or desire to learn; Knowledge of database management, experience with Finalsite EMS preferred; Willingness to work hard and be part of a team with a common mission.
