Major Responsibilities:
The Respiratory Therapy Program Director serves as the chief academic and administrative leader of the Respiratory Therapy program, responsible for all aspects of program operation, continuous quality improvement, accreditation compliance, student success initiatives, faculty supervision, community engagement, and development of internal and external partnerships. This position requires strategic leadership in coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating all components of the Respiratory Therapy program to ensure excellence in respiratory care education.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication Management:
Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
Policy Adherence and Ethical Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.
University Engagement:
Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student orientation, university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.
Special Projects:
Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.
Compliance Adherence:
Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulation, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
Assigned Duties:
Undertake other assigned duties as required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited respiratory therapy courses Read, understand and comply with the University's mission, the catalog, the University's policies and procedures, the Staff Handbook and Institutional Effectiveness process. Respond to communications (e-mail, voice mail) on a daily basis. Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Establishes, measures, and evaluates program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Correlation of clinical education with didactic education using approved curriculum format Periodic revision of course materials and manuals Maintains accreditation; knowledge of accreditation policies and procedures Maintains assurance of effective program operations Manages ongoing program assessment Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares/plans budget requests Attend professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences Teaches respiratory therapy courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Evaluation and advisement of students in a didactic/clinical setting Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Position may require committee and project assignments or other duties as assigned as well as day/evening/distance learning classes and activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Ensure they are in compliance with Title IX of Education Amendments Act of 1972. Support and participate in University Commencement Ceremonies. Participate in the new students' orientation. Participate in the self-studies and committees conducted by the University.
Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institutions or universities. Holds a current registration in Respiratory Therapy. Documents three years clinical experience in the professional discipline. Documents a minimum of two years' experience as an instructor in a NBRC-accredited program. Experience with CoARC Accreditation process.
Job Type Full-time Schedule :
Monday through Friday from 12PM to 9PM/ as needed
